What does an AI-heavy role do?

An AI-heavy role is a familiar job, such as an operations manager, HR advisor or CRM product owner, where rolling out or running AI tools is written into the core duties. The title doesn't say AI; the job does.

  • Do the core job (operations, HR, CRM, finance, programme management).
  • Lead the rollout of AI tools or automation within that area.
  • Redesign the team's processes around those tools.
  • Train colleagues and measure the results.

Do you need to be technical?

No. These are business roles first. The AI part is about choosing, rolling out and using tools well inside a function you already know.

How do you move into it from ops, HR, marketing or finance?

This is the easiest door into AI work: you don't change profession, you change what your job includes. Look for ads in your field whose duties mention rolling out AI, Copilot or automation, and lead with examples of doing that.
